We launched Cortex 🚀 in August 2025, with the goal of making Cortex your intelligent coding and security AI Agent 🤖, that can help you write new code, scan and remediate issues in existing code expeditiously ⚡.
We’ve made 14 releases in the past 7 months for Cortex 📅. Read our Release Notes page for all the features 📖.
As we progressed through the development of Cortex, we gathered feedback from our design partners 🤝. Over the past 13 releases of Cortex, we captured analytics to make our product even better 📈. That brings us to the 14th release of Cortex 3.0 in your favorite browser – Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox 🌐.
We spent the past 4 months rigorously developing the browser version of Cortex 🛠️. During this time, we have added 100,000 lines of code in over 500 commits in 8 repositories specifically for the browser work 💻.
We developed features with great care and precision 🎯, with 10 engineers contributing to various features and internal releases 👨💻👩💻. We have come a long way and now, we’re ready to offer this to the world 🌍.

Since launch the VSCode plugin 💻 has been downloaded several hundred times and we have addressed all of the feedback we received from users 🛠️.
We have added seamless authentication 🔑 and DevSecOps connectivity to Cortex. We have also incorporated MCP support to GitHub, Slack and Atlassian – Jira, Confluence (Cortex 1.5) 🔗. Cortex has been extended to work with Visual Studio (Cortex 1.6) 🖥️ and IntelliJ IDEs (Cortex 2.0) ⚙️. We have made Cortex to be Better, Safer, Faster and Easier ⚡ in several other releases.
With Cortex 2.2, we added personalization, memory features, additional privacy 🔒 and retention to Cortex 2.2. From initial release to memory, Cortex received Personalization feature within 162 days 🚀 fastest of all Coding Agents.
We introduced Cortex 2.5, reimagining how you approach your everyday tasks in an AI native workplace 🤖. Cortex 2.5 immensely expands its capabilities to seamlessly integrate with your entire enterprise stack 🌐, making it an indispensable asset for your organization.
Cortex 2.5 connects with GitHub, Atlassian, Slack, Azure DevOps, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, websearch and more! 🔗 In addition to being a Security and Coding agent, Cortex 2.5 can now manage operations across the gamut of your enterprise stack 🏢.
That brings us to Cortex 3.0 🚀. At Pervaziv AI, we’re introducing Cortex 3.0 in 3 browsers – Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox, in addition to the 3 IDEs – Microsoft VSCode, Visual Studio and Jetbrains IntelliJ IDEA 💻.
