Cortex 2.5 immensely expands its capabilities to seamlessly integrate with your entire enterprise stack, making it an indispensable asset for your organization.
Cortex 2.5 connects with GitHub, Atlassian, Slack, Azure DevOps, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, websearch and more! In addition to being a Security and Coding agent, Cortex 2.5 can now manage operations across the gamut of your enterprise stack.
Cortex 🤖 Security & Coding Assistant
Overview
Cortex is an enterprise-grade security and coding assistant designed to help organizations build, operate, and scale software securely. It combines deep code intelligence with operational automation across the tools engineering and security teams use every day. Cortex reduces risk, improves consistency, and supports secure delivery without disrupting existing workflows.
Code Analysis & Security
Cortex can analyze code to identify vulnerabilities, insecure patterns, and structural weaknesses before they reach production. It enforces secure coding best practices, assists with remediation, and generates secure implementations aligned with organizational standards. By refactoring and hardening existing code, Cortex helps teams improve security posture while maintaining development velocity.
Let’s review the powerful enterprise connections already integrated into Cortex.
Platform Operations
GitHub
Cortex supports enterprise GitHub environments by managing repositories, issues, and pull requests with a security-first approach. It helps teams review and respond to security alerts and dependency risks, including those surfaced by dependency checkers. This enables consistent governance and safer collaboration across large, distributed engineering teams.
Atlassian (Jira & Confluence)
Cortex strengthens operational discipline by assisting in managing Jira issues, workflows, and reporting across projects and teams. It helps ensure tickets, transitions, and queries reflect accurate status and compliance requirements. In Confluence, Cortex can help maintain structured, up-to-date documentation to support knowledge sharing and audit readiness.
Slack
Cortex enhances real-time collaboration by assisting in organizing and managing conversations, files, and workflows in Slack. It helps teams surface relevant information quickly and maintain context across operational and security discussions. This reduces noise while improving responsiveness and coordination.
Now, let’s learn about the significant new enterprise connectivity added to Cortex 2.5 to further enhance your AI capabilities. Being a part of both Microsoft and Google for Startups programs, we felt obligated to enhance our relationship further. We’ve made the user experience exponentially better if you use Cortex with enterprise suites such as Azure DevOps, Microsoft three sixty five and Google Workspace. We can also search the web for additional information. With this release, you get 8 MCP connectors and 20+ tools.
Azure DevOps
Cortex supports the software delivery lifecycle in Azure DevOps, from work items and repositories to builds, testing, and sprint execution. It helps teams maintain clear visibility into progress, quality, and delivery risks. This enables predictable, controlled releases across complex enterprise environments.
Microsoft 365
Cortex integrates with Microsoft 365 to support secure enterprise communication and collaboration. It works across Outlook, Calendar, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint to manage messages, meetings, and shared content. This helps organizations maintain productivity while enforcing governance and access controls.
Google Workspace
Cortex supports productivity and collaboration across Google Workspace tools, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Google Drive. It helps teams manage communication, scheduling, and shared documents efficiently. This ensures consistency and control across distributed and cross-functional teams.
Security Intelligence
Cortex incorporates current, real-time security intelligence to inform analysis and decision-making. It leverages data on CVEs, known vulnerabilities, zero-day threats, and emerging attack patterns. This context allows Cortex to prioritize risks and provide guidance aligned with the current threat landscape.
Scope Handling
Cortex is designed to operate within clearly defined capabilities to ensure reliability and accuracy. When a request exceeds its scope or requires deeper specialization, Cortex seamlessly transfers the task to an appropriate expert agent. This ensures enterprise-grade outcomes without compromising quality or coverage.
History of Cortex
Cortex was released in August of 2025. Since then the VSCode plugin has been downloaded several hundred times and we have addressed all of the feedback we received from users.
We have added seamless authentication and DevSecOps connectivity to Cortex. We have also incorporated MCP support to GitHub, Slack and Atlassian – Jira, Confluence (Cortex 1.5). Cortex has been extended to work with Visual Studio (Cortex 1.6) and IntelliJ IDEs (Cortex 2.0). We have made Cortex to be Better, Safer, Faster and Easier in several other releases.
With Cortex 2.2, we added personalization, memory features, additional privacy and retention to Cortex 2.2. From initial release to memory, Cortex received Personalization feature within 162 days 🚀 fastest of all Coding Agents.
But we wanted to give you more! And hence we released Cortex 2.5. What’s next you ask? We’ll be there before you know it!
