Capturing IDEs! Cortex 2.0 can now work with VSCode, Visual Studio and IntelliJ environments. We’ve made Cortex even more accessible with the launch of our IntelliJ IDEA plugin. After analyzing the IDE usage share, we set out to conquer the most popular ones. Cortex can be installed from the three respective Marketplaces today!
Developer IDEs are paramount for writing code and integrating with new AI workloads in an enterprise environment. We developed Cortex, which is your intelligent coding and security AI Agent, that can help you write new code, scan and remediate issues in existing code expeditiously. Cortex brings security and code insights directly into your favorite development environment.
To support developers, we launched Cortex last August. Users have downloaded the plugin several hundred times. We have received positive ratings and reviews in VSCode Marketplace. We have added MCP support to Cortex, so you can connect apps such as GitHub, Slack and Atlassian.
Some of our Enterprise partners are on the licensed Visual Studio software. With a strong push from these Enterprise partners, we added support for Visual Studio in late November. You can download Cortex in Visual Studio Marketplace.
A few other partners asked for closer integration with IntelliJ IDEA as their code is primarily written in Java and Kotlin. We designed Cortex to be platform agnostic from the get go, so we only had to enhance some of the frontend logic to support this new IDE. You can install the IntelliJ plugin from the Jetbrains marketplace. We have assimilated the share of Developer IDEs used today and ranked the IDEs by their normalized share as a percentage. We embarked on a journey to support 3 out of the top 5 most popular ones. This gives us a whopping 72% Developer Market Share with all three IDEs!

Cortex has a similar look and feel in all three environments. We strived hard to make it seamless for our users to switch between platforms if they choose to do so. There are subtle differences in the usage based on the native support that was available for us from these IDEs. But, users still get the same availability, reliability and security from Pervaziv-Security and Pervaziv-Backend. Users also get the best of Pervaziv-LLM in all three.
But wait, there’s one more thing! Along with these IDE integrations, you also get our latest DevSecOps suite 2.5 to further enhance your workflows. DevSecOps includes offerings such as Developer Productivity, Certification, Risk Assessment, Package Analyzer, Vulnerability Management and more. View all our products here!
So, whether you’re a VSCode enthusiast, a Visual Studio expert, or an IntelliJ IDEA loyalist, the question is: Which Cortex version will you fall in love with? We can’t wait to find out!
